How Layaway Payments Work #
Booked Up! offers layaway payment plans for selected books and orders, allowing you to pay in smaller scheduled payments instead of paying the full amount upfront. The one-time payment amount is not the same as the total amount of layaway.
The number of installments available may vary depending on the book, offer, or quotation.
This guide explains when your first payment is due, how succeeding payments are scheduled, and what happens if a payment is late or missed.
💳 When is my first layaway payment due? #
Your first layaway payment is due upon placing your order.
For website orders, you will be asked to make your first payment and upload your proof of payment during checkout.
Your order or slot is not considered secured until the required first payment has been submitted and validated.
Invoice orders #
For orders placed through a quotation or custom invoice, a different first payment due date may be arranged upon request.
If a different date has been agreed upon, please follow the due date indicated on your invoice.
📅 When are my next payments due? #
After your first payment, your remaining layaway installments are generally scheduled at the end of each succeeding month or every 20th of the month until the payment plan is completed.
Your exact payment schedule will be reflected in your order/account.
Please always follow the due dates shown under your Upcoming Dues, as these are the dates assigned to your specific order.
Layaway payment dates are fixed on the 20th or at the end of the month and will not be adjusted for weekends, and holidays. Please select layaway only if you are able to commit to the assigned payment schedule.
🧾 Sample Layaway Schedule #
For example, you place an order on August 29 and select a 3-month layaway plan.
Your schedule may look like this:
| Installment | Due Date |
|---|---|
| 1st Payment | August 29 — Due upon order |
| 2nd Payment | September 30 |
| 3rd Payment | October 31 |
Once all three installments have been paid and validated, your layaway payment plan is complete.
What if my first payment has a custom due date? #
Suppose you receive an invoice on August 29, but you request to make your first payment on September 15.
If approved, your schedule may look like:
| Installment | Due Date |
|---|---|
| 1st Payment | September 15 |
| 2nd Payment | October 31 |
| 3rd Payment | November 30 |
Always refer to the payment schedule assigned to your order for your actual due dates.
⏰ What happens if my payment is late? #
Payments should be made on or before their assigned due dates.
A 3% overdue fee will be charged on the overdue payment.
Example #
If your installment is ₱1,000:
3% overdue fee = ₱30
Your total amount due would become ₱1,030.
